The firewall is 1/2" thick and there is no need to reinforce it. I'm flying mine 3-4 times dailey and really starting to get it dialed in. I finished all the mixing yesterday so that it will knifedge with rudder only horizon to horizon. There is something else this plane is exceptional at. You can have it on knifedge and do snaps right back to knifedge almost effortlessly. I'm still working on the inverted manuevers with it, and so far everything is holding up well. One last thing, On the battery situation. It wouldn,t be wise to use a 2000 li-ion for the receiver. You have 8 servos in this plane. Li-Ion batteries don't supply as many amps as say a ni-cad. If you are going to run Li-Ion as I have, you should run a 4 cell pack which is series parallel which doubles the amp capacity. Currently I'm running the Fromeco Relions 4400 mah pack. They only cost $52. I now have over 20 flights and I'm charging it for the first time! The new technologies are great but they have some little quirks you need to know about.
