Default RE: GOT HIT WITH PROP TODAY!!!

There's another moral... Any time that engine is running, make that prop your #1 concern! (Hot Muffler and Exhaust #2)
I messed up on #1 and #2. I had just built a Kaos 40, the first time I started it I didn't have the throttle linkage quite right. I usaully set it up so the engine will idle with the throttle trim set at half or above, and I just move the trim all the way down to kill the engine. Well, with the trim at the lowest setting, the plane just idled. So, to kill the engine, I just put my finger over the carb. I was being very careful of the prop, but my hand happened to touch the top of the head. So, of course, I jerked my hand and stuck the tip of my finger right in the prop. Luckily, the engine had almost died by this time, but it still hurt. I did learn my lesson, the next time I just pinched the fuel line until the engine quit. This does lead to a question, what is the best way to shut off a glow engine?
