you may want to tighten the screws that hold the brake shoes to the tranny. Its the two screws that hold the brake shoes against the brake. You could tighten them alittle more so when the brake is applied, they grab more. Tighten them so there isn't too much slack between the brake shoes and the brake disk. This might help some.
