Default RE: Some advice for a beginner....

I fly both glow and electrics.

Electrics are very nice, however you do need to be aware of a couple of things. MOST park flyer and trainer electrics can not handle wind over 5 mph. The MAJORITY of electric trainers are 3 channel (rudder, elevator, throttle OR aileron, elevator, throttle) where as MOST glow trainers are 4 channel (rudder, elevator, aileron, throttle). Electrics are clean, quiet and MANY can be flown in a much smaller space than a glow plane.

Several electrics that you may want to consider are: Soarstar, Wingo, Sky Scooter Pro II, Slow Stick. Any of those should serve you well.

Welcome back and good luck.
