guys,

thanks very much for the help and advice. First I tightened up the valve clearances - this increased my 8.2k to 8.4k. Then I took off the CFE filter and this pushed it up to 8.6k.

That extra 400 rpm makes a huge difference! Plane flies better now than ever. Many thanks.
