Page 7 of your manual will have a metric conversion chart. I like sqeeguk's idea of putting an annotated sample of each size close to your work area.
If you've looked through all the parts, could you give me a report on the quality of the die-cuts and of the wood in general? Not all balsa parts are created equal.
Also, how old is this kit? Did you recently buy it from the LHS, or off of a person who might of had it laying around for a few years?
