I received the adapter today....it is about 1/32 too long still. This is with an APC 16-14 and APC 17-12. Not a problem, just need to take off maybe 1/16 to be sure the nut does not interfere with the spinner cap. It took maybe 2 min with a dremel, and all is fine now.
