RE: Decided on an x-cellerator
*** Yall r making me post now. I dont wanna post because for sum odd reason u will get mad and you always do. The x-c comes rtr and there is also the x-c racer kit with better upgrades and such but with out the engine and radio. Also with proline tires. Got this from the global forum.
ok finially got the X-c with some track time. i packed up about 10 pairs of assorted tires, starter box, gallon of gas tools and a few other things. get there and the track looks a little rough from the recent rains. i go ahead and run with the losi step pins i had on, the rear end was all over the place! it was almost uncontrollable and kinda emberrasing. next i toss those and throw on some proline lugs. we also watered the track to pack some of the dirt on the surface. this was the ticket! the truck hooked up and handled better then i was ever able to get my NT to. doubles, table top, you name it and the truck took everything i threw at it. i was able to carry alot of speed through the corners and still have excellent control, the brakes showed no signs of fading even lap after lap off the loong straight. many 8th scale buggies were out and i was able to prety much hang with them , loosing only a second or so every lap. everyone one there was very impressed with the handling of the truck, i reviever many positive comments and "what kinda truck is that" questions. the suspension really had its work out considering this is a true 8th scale track and they let it get pretty bumpy. i was able to make it 6 sometimes even 7 minutes without a single mistake. i am sure with more turning i could be very very competitive. people were also asking if i was going to race tomorrow, i wish i was but i have to work. also durability was great! the only thing that broke was my throttle servo, i overshot a jump and the chasis bottomed out and the servo just stopped working. got a futaba for 13 bucks in the hobby shop and didnt have another problem. i had many high speed cartwheels, a few bumps into the wall and alot of flips. i think in all i ran over 10 tanks. not a bend tie tod or even a stripped screw anywhere! i was extremely pleased with the performance. this truck felt like an extension of me and it went where i pointed it and ran perfectly all day long. i swear i dont know how some of yall stip spurs, even after landing many times full throttle ( to keep the nose up) off the large triple i still cant see any wear and tear on the spur. another thing to address is the gearing, we could def use lower gearing. i was able to make the jumps, and it accelerated well, but 1 or 2 teeth lower would def help. i wouldnt say it is a must have, but just something to help. i think that would be the finial peice of the puzzle for this budget racer. please post with any questions. if interested i can go over my baseline set up. the track was slightly loamy/sandy.
I liek to post here in the st thread i would just like a little more respect instead of things getting thrown back in my face. I say the x-c is good. I know.
