RE: DV8R ARRIVED!!!
Hey Shaun!
I hope you got your big box of wood and foam by now!
I have a couple nites work left on the tail feathers and I will be ready for covering operations. I expect the ultracote to arrive today or tomorrow. When I finish the tail feathers I will post some images of the project complete and ready for ultracote. I hope I can remember how to use ultracote as it has been years now since built a project that did not get glassed and painted. I plan to turn up some AC/DC tunes at attack it this weekend! I am still shooting to complete and test fly before the HEAT meet in Lake Wales June 5th. The kit has had almost everything needed for construction except some polyply for the wing servo covers and some scrap balsa to make farings for the leading edge of the wing to the fuse.
You can see these on the image of the DV8R on the PCM website but it is not addressed in the instruction manual yet. I found that everything built very straight and true with almost no adjustments to the parts. I did have to sand the wing saddle some for a perfect fit to the wing airfoil. It was fun to work wood again. It was more like building a piece of furniture!
Have fun,
Jay
