RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying
What did I read that you guys are glueing your canopies on with? I elected not to glue it and used 8 small button head screws. Well now the front screws have come loose and my canopy has two small cracks on either side. Im going to take it off and glue it down after drilling two small holes to stop the spread of the cracks but I want to make sure that whatever glue I use stays on for good.
And I now have about 8 flights total on the plane with the DA50 and Im liking it more and more each time. It weighs 13lbs and 3ozs with my Lipo battery setup, which by the way works awsome. I flew 5 flights yesterday at about 15 minutes each and only dropped .2v on either battery by the end of the day.
The plane does pull hard to the left on the up lines but nothing thats not corrected easily with a touch of right rudder. The harriers are pretty nice too. I had to work on my throttle curve a little to keep the throttle controllable but it's great now. And you wouldnt believe how fast this plane torques around in a TR.....holy smokes. Maybe another 5 or 10 flights and have her down on the deck like I do my profiles.
