I have always used an after market neckstrap. The ones that come with the radios are too narrow. It is my observation that pilots who fly thumbs do not use a neckstrap and people who fly fingers do. My style of finger placement is for the thumb to rest on top of the ststick and the next finger lies to the side of the stick. All my servo are set for maximum throw around center stick position.
No matter where I fly the thumbers are in the majority and we finger flyers call them stick bangers. It all boils down to who taught you to fly. Finger flyer instructors are defintely in the minority.
