Peter, I've got nothing but praise for the Avistar and the 46LA engine. As a five pounder with this light little powerhouse up front the plane performs very well and handles beautifully. Its a very durable craft. I can attest to that as I have learned on one and years later still fly it for some care free fun. On training night there is a sigh of relief when a student shows up with an Avistar as compared to some of the other flat bottom wing types. With the semi symetrical wing, you will have years of enjoyment even after you solo. (unless you are like your dad and just has to have them all) Good luck, Joe
