Default lost in space

ok, I did a really stupid thing and need some input. I was flying Mon. in about 15mph winds and got a little to high, well the winds aloft must have been stronger because my hawk kept on climbing and got further away, I lost orientation and eventually the hawk dissapeared into the sky. Now my question is this, in 15 mph winds with a half of a tank of fuel and 2min of time how far could this this have went ?(altitude unknown)

p.s. now I know the effects of translational lift and I realize that I should have hit throttle cut as soon as I lost site of it.
