RE: ULTIMATE bipe question
The Ultimate biplane has quite a few different faces. Fortunately, in most of the available sizes it's an easy to fly aerobatic bipe when set up properly. You can go from mild to wild as your ability and comfort level with the plane increases.
If you keep the control surface travels and C/G within the manufacturers range, it is not at all difficult to fly. Nor is it difficult to land. The approaches will be a little steeper than what you have been used to, but the plane will slow quickly once it's flared to just above landing height. The Ultimate is one of the few aerobatic bipes that tracks reasonably well on the ground.
Given that you are limited to the 46 and 60 engines you described, I would look at the Goldberg Ultimate. It flys very well, and is relatively light. You can upgrade engines later, but the Webra would likely fly the plane ok now if it has any power left in it. I wouldn't look for 3D flight, but it would be too soon for that anyway
Going with the Pitts for your first bipe could well be a VERY large mistake. No Pitts is the easiest biplane to land, I don't care what anybody says.
Get a little bit of help at the field and have fun.
