Would be nice if Futaba made mention of it in the radio instructions somewhere.
They do. The reason I know is that I'm in the market for a transmitter, and I just spent a couple of days reading all the Futaba manuals (they are on line). I'm not positive all of the manuals talk about this, but I did see it mentioned and explained very clearly.
