Default Servo arm question

Just wondering what the four choices are for on my servo arm. I see three of the arms have three holes to choose from and the other arm has four holes. Also, what's the numbers represent on the top of the arm. 1,2,3 and 4? I just noticed the arm with the #1 has numbers next to the holes, 10,13,16 and 19. the other arm that has numbers next to the holes is arm #2. It has numbers 12,15 and 18. How or what do I do with picking an arm to use?

If I'm not mistaken, the numbers represent how many millimeters from the center of the servo arm. Are the numbers 1-4 referred to in you instructions anywhere? What type of plane/servos/radio do you have?

I have a futaba 9C radio I am using, and I have Goldberg Ex-treme 330 I just put together and I bought Tower Hobbies TS-65 High torque Standard dual BB servos I plan to use, since Goldberg recommends High Torque servoes if used with a high HP engine, I will be putting a Saito 72 on it. I am not new to this hobby, but never bothered to really dig in to doing things the right way. I would just hook my stuff up and center it the best I could, which is really easy to do with a 9C.

each arm is numbered. if your servo (and trim) is centered, but the arm is not, you can rotate to the next number to get the arm lined up.

Ahhhhhh....... that's pretty slick. I'm getting more picky about having stuff mechanically centered, that's good stuff to know. Would be nice if Futaba made mention of it in the radio instructions somewhere. I guess I need to stop just cutting off three arms right off the bat.....

They do. The reason I know is that I'm in the market for a transmitter, and I just spent a couple of days reading all the Futaba manuals (they are on line). I'm not positive all of the manuals talk about this, but I did see it mentioned and explained very clearly.

I recall reading about it in my manual too. However, I looked at how little difference they were off and I didn't bother.

I guess they keep the anal retensive people in mind when they designed them.
