Have you ever considered having a one of kind Mustang paint scheme. I built and flew a 1/6 scale P-51D decked out in a Luftwaffen color scheme. The Germans had there own Allied airforce that they used for training there pilots in air combat against there opponents.
Do some research on the WEB and I'm sure you will come across some interesting information.
Fly, I am probably going to copy one of the many Mustangs at Chino's Planes of Fame Museum. The nice thing about them is that they paint them in gloss colors to show them off so I can have a gloss painted aluminum Mustang and it would be scale. And I will use my aluminum automotive paint for mine and then airbrush the trim and clear coat it in auto 2 part gloss so its gas proof I am installing a 4.2 gas engine.
