Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

WOOOOHOOOO!!!! Thanks to the great suggestions of my "3D teacher", I have been able to drop the 13 oz out of the nose!!!

I moved the servos to the front, and moved the rudder servo up to the front also. Got rid of the servo trays and ran CF Rods to the elevator horns. Also installed a support to keep the CF deflection (if there is any) at a minimum. After all the reconfiguring, I removed all the weight and put it on the CG machine and it balanced right off the bat, it was a miracle. Now, I am dying to know what she weighs....Cannot weigh till Saturday to get a scale from someone and see how much I saved and what the all up weight is... Here are some pics..

I should probably do something about the openings, but at this point it isn't worth the effort, more unnecessary weight..
