I have the CC Lee C-17E biplane. I beleive the ESC is the same. I changed to a Futaba tranny and found that the motor would spin at less revs when at full throttle than it did with the stock tranny. It wasn't a big difference but when I installed another ESC the problem was sorted. I went with a 30 amp ESC which should be OK with the 380 motor and even with a nice upgraded 400.
