New here and my first post.
I am considering buying a CClee J3 Cub RTF model (includes C&F 3ch Radio system), but would first like to know if anybody has any feedback on this model. I would particularly like some info on how the speed control functions on the transmitter (on/off or proportional), and the flight characteristics of the model.

Sorry for not reading this before your mail, been rather busy, hopefully the info has helped. As i said, it is on/off for throttle with that radio gear, but the speed controller is fully proportional so i changed the radio for a Futaba 6EXA tx and a Hitec electron 6 rx and have full throttle control now.
I have quite a few flights on this plane now and it really flies very easily, but i will stress the point, i found the hand launch very very difficult with this plane, doesn't seem to quite have the power to get up and go from the hand, but ground take offs, as long as the ground is flat are excellent, very forgiving in flight, and i really do owe the ease of flying and controlling and landing down to Aerofly Pro flight sim, can't stress enough how much that program has helped me get flying, it's extrememly accurate.
So BIG thumbs up for that.
Enjoy

I have the CC Lee C-17E biplane. I beleive the ESC is the same. I changed to a Futaba tranny and found that the motor would spin at less revs when at full throttle than it did with the stock tranny. It wasn't a big difference but when I installed another ESC the problem was sorted. I went with a 30 amp ESC which should be OK with the 380 motor and even with a nice upgraded 400.
