One of the ways I saved some weight on my old one was to use a hole saw and cut holes along the alieron stock that came in the kit. The wood that the alierons were made from looked like the hard, heavy, stringy balsa that the old Guillows kits had.

Does the newer kits do the alierons in a different way??
