Hope you find it. Heres a story to lessen the blow. You werent the first, or probably the last, to lose a RC aircraft. Maybe some humor form my story might ease you pain. Sorry to hear of the loss. [

Back in high school before I ever had a RC, a friend of mine had a pretty nice trainer airplane. He lived in a trailer park and was a pretty good pilot. He would use the small tarmac street that the cars used to drive on as a runway, stand on top his trailor, and fly it in big circles around the park. I would give him the "all clear' so he knew no cars were coming, and he would land right where he took off from.
Long story short. He did this regularly for quite a while (year or longer) but one day he got locked out of his radio controls when the plane was flying level, and steady, and straight eastbound, at about 25 MPH, and 100ft of elevation.......and away it went. NEVER found it. We know for a fact it cleared the entire trailer park, but no idea after that....Probably ended up in some farmers wheat field, and was discovered long after it flew away. Looking back it was incredibly stupid, and dangerous to fly like he did, but at 16-18 years old it was a riot. I dont think anyone thought much else about it except he was good enough to take off, fly in circles, and land safely over a long period of time, and it was really fun to watch. Aside from a missing airplane no other mishaps ever took place, thankfully.
