Default RE: What should I do with a Trainer plane.

I agree with Mike on this one,

Reaper was encouraging me to fly it in a park. Maybe I will crash, maybe I won't but what I have experienced in RCU is that a lot of RC fliers learned this way. They didn't have
an instructor teaching them how to fly as well as RTF's and ARF's they built a plane from a kit flew it and that was it. I just met someone from my area who is going to learn
with me. We are going to learn from an instructor and that's going to be the end of it.

IFIXAIRPLANES: reaper needs to understand. mrjones lives in the bronx. That is a very populated area and even early in the morning there are people around. just because you can fly proficiently on a sim donst mean squat. My 3 year old nephew can fly fairly well on the sim. Gee, maybe i should go to a PUBLIC place and give him the radio. yeah thats smart. And no, the AMA isnt strong in me. the only reason i am in the ama is so i can be in the club i am in. What i am saying comes from experience, you just cant go from a sim to flying with no problem.

Now Sean are you saying that you know how crowded my park is at 6:00am? from MA?? and I live right across the street from it which I pass it everyday? I respect your R/C airplane knowledge but I doubt that you do, Even if you lived in New York in the past.

Thanks for all of the encouraging words but I can assure everyone that I will not kill anyone in a park with a trainer....
