Well clealy the boundaries are defined in the .wlp file but the problem is that no one but Reflex knows the format of the file. However you could try a "hack attack" - just edit a dew bytes at a time and see if anything you change has an effect on the stripes. Clearly the .wlp also contains ground elevation data so it'd be interesting to work out how that is defined too.
Personally I like the feature because the whole point is that it DOES teach you not to fly behind yourself which would be a very dangerous thing to do.
