If you are going to purchase a new starter then I would recomend the Dynatron. The smaller starters will start the 31cc but if you go any bigger they will not turn them over. The Dynatron is not that expensive and you can run it on 12 volst for the 31cc and if you go bigger you can run it on 24 volts. I have one for my 45 cc Homelite and it works great.
