RE: How to get rid of the NO FLY ZONE in XTR?
Hi guys,
I'm just another guy reading the thread and digesting all this good info. But I wonder why everyone always wants to turn things off or have the ability to reduce the realism that XTR provides?! Could it be that we're all used to flying G2 and just can't get used to something that's different? Why would you want to practice flying behind you in an area that the AMA always restricts because of safety? It's an area of the "real" field that we normally don't see when we're concentring on our plane or heli, and a spectator or car etc can come up behind us at any time. I think XTR did flyers a big favor by teaching us to control our birds rather than allowing us to to aimlessly fly anywhere without regard to safety in the pits or the public. Fly behind you or over the pits and public areas in a comp and you're grounded!
I know we can all come up with justifications to support what ever side of a discussion we're on, but why sacrifice realism because "it was always doine that way"
When I changed my cellphone from Nokia to Motorola, I was p***ed off because it didn't make sense to me why I should have to buy a different car charger. Why can't they all use the same charger plugs?
XTR isn't designed as an upgrade to something like G2, but rather as the next step in model realism. If you want game graphics or fake trees that can appear or disappear with a key press, or want to be able to look down on your heli while you're flying, then XTR isn't for you. I mean, can you look down on the heli or zoom in when you're at the field and flying your actual model??
Let's face it, with XTR, if they were able to somehow get the smell of 20% nitro to come out of the speakers, there'd be no reason to go to the field!
We're all entitled to our opinions and none of them are more important than others. I just wanted to toss mine in the mix.
