Thanks Rodney but this does not answer my question. Does anyone recall the post I am referring to or have info about the type of component/device I am looking for. My application is lowpower and size is not a primary concern as it would be to power my plane cam.

Does anyone know the name of some components that will raise the voltage of a battery, similar to a voltage regulator, but raises the voltage, instead of drops it. So a 3.7 lithium could power a 6 volt device (but at less efficiency). I seem to recall in the original post the unit was something like a transistor or a 6 pinned IC, and you needed to add a capacitors as you increased voltage. Anyone know of it or something similar ?
