Default RE: BME Edge arrives!!!!!!

Scoub... you've already determined in a earlier post that the BME Edge will have similar (actually a little less) wingloading due to it having a little less wingarea.

The difference will be that the engine will be draggin' around 1.5 lbs less weight... increasing the power to weight ratio significantly.

Mine and my buddies WH Edges came out to right at 18 lbs with smoke... 17 1/4 without. Another club members WH Extra was 18 lbs without smoke...

He's had to fix stab and wing incidences... one stab side was 1/2 degree off and the other 1 degree. Mine has an aileron hardpoint installed 1/2" off from the other requiring that I install another hardpoint to match the geometry. Almost every other hardpoint had to be redrilled because they were all drilled crooked (especially the rudder). Wingtube was too short and very tight, paint chips & runs on the cowl, etc. The answer to these things was "It's reflected in the price."

Lots of guys are loving the WH Edge and love the way it flies... it will be interesting to see what is "reflected in the price" of the BME.

At 17+ lbs, a 50cc is at it's upper limit and comes out of a hover slowly... drop another 1.5 lbs plus and...

But it's all conjecture until some of the Edges reach their anxiously awaiting new owners... I'm one... and I do hope they meet expectations just like evryone else... for me, the WH was somewhat of a dissappointment... and to this day I still can't figure out how they advertised it as 15.5-17 lbs (17 lbs exactly with a G-62)...
