RE: SIG komander cowl??
Never had a problem with the Komander gear legs when flying off a decent flying field. They'd rake back a bit after a few grass landings but that was easy enough to straighten. My first Komander died on its first flight thanks to a deadstick in high winds. The second was sold after 3 years of heavy flying and some pretty bad fuel creep under the covering. The third was sold four years ago. I was flying off a cow pasture then, and had changed the landing gear to a dural blank mounted on the fuselage after I had cartwheeled because of catching one of the gearlegs in a gopher hold on landing.
My brother has a Komander Mk I kit in his basement that I just might take from him one day.
