RE: BME Edge?
No apology needed...
I just wanted to clarify that I wasn't directly associated with BME or any of my other design customers. When I see a plane I like, I talk about it. If I have issues I don't suppress them. (as is the case with the WH Edge... I think Tom is a great guy and has been a pleasure doing business with, AND while the WH Edge is a good plane, there were just to many things about it that I just didn't care for.
The Double Vision on the other hand (yes I do Chip's site too) is an awesome plane... the instructions are goofed up, the covering doesn't stick to itself very well, and it's heavier than I was originally led to believe.... but I did say awesome... and it is. Everytime I fly the plane it is a sheer joy. It's very capable, walls like a Yak, flatspins nicely, locks into a hover like no other plane I've flown and lands like a feather... I do wish it was 15-16 lbs so that the DA-50 had more umph out of a hover, but at 17 (+ an oz or two) it flies very light and I hope the DA-50 will pick up the power with some time on it and when I switch to synthetic oil and a 22x10.
Didn't mean to "push the DV" here, but my point is this... if the BME is a dissapointment... I'll be the first to sell it and share my take on it... if it's a winner, then (like anyone else who likes their stuff) will promote it and the company that makes it because I want them to succeed and bring even more great planes to market. It's my personal goal to find the best flying aircraft (for me). I love the DV and 68" Yak... my two favorite planes... I really am hoping that the 87" Yak is even better than the 68" as EF suggests...
EF isn't a customer, but has brought some phenomenal planes to market... I promote them on that premise only.
Back to the manual.... I haven't heard anything from Max, but will contact him today... the moment I get the manual, I'll convert it to PDF and put it online... and this thread will be the first to know about it.
