yes you do need extra glow plugs. They wear out especially during break-in. I started off with just a quart of fuel but i needed more soon. Take your truck to your LHS and ask the people there for some help. They should be able to get your truck tuned right and setup right. If you don't have a LHS nearby ask around in some of these threads. The expert people will help you. You should buy tools that your truck needs. House-hold tools are most of the time too big. You should also buy spare parts because if you bash you will break something.
