...is most likely the answer. If not already done so, move the battery all the way forward. Turn flybar perpendicular to heli and lift it off the ground. If tail squats, cg is too far backward and that'll definitely affect the heli's forward flying ability. I have the same esky honey bee and have to mount the battery sideways and almost half way between the front skid supports (use zip tie) to get the right balance.
