I have used the 3000mah NIMH in a brushless sailplane. The DO NOT give out the current needed for high performance, the voltage would drop and the plane would BEC. They are for low current draw applications.
Nice to hear about the new HV cells, but I would wait for others to guinea pig them before investing.
