Default An Engineering Question about the Rookie

Hello RCU Jet folks!

Have I got a engineering question about the Rookie for you.

Joe Brozo, James Love, Les Morrow, and I were talking this morning about the Comp-arf Rookie when I brought up, basically the following question: "On the 'roo, they had a engine pod so that you could fly it with a O.S. .91 and a pusher prop. Think the same thing can be done for the Rookie? Or for that matter, stick a OS .91/Dynamax fan inside the Rookie?" ( close too, but not the exact quotes mind you! )

To wit, Les let me have a wreck Rookie rear fuselage that he salvage from a fellow club member's accident that we can use as a engineering mockup. Such as to mount a DF inside to see what needs to be done to the structure, etc.. With a DF installed, the Rookie wouldn't have the split ailerons(and neded servos), or the extra air tank for the brakes; and use the wire landing gears instead of structs to keep the weight down.

Any thoughts?
