RE: b29 bomber
Hi everybody,
So I crashed my B29 and decided to repair it and convert it to 3 channels.
Here is what I did :
2 micro servos
1 ESC ( a standard cheap one)
1 MINI GWS Rx
The airplane fuselage as definitely enough room to fit every thing. I did not remove anything from the inside, I let all plastic part in place. I use the stock battery, so no change in the battery compartment. The only change in the fuselage is an opening in front of the wings to put the 2 servos ( see pictures). I did that so the center of gravity is the same as before I started the conversion. A small tip to set the center of gravity : without the stock battery the airplane should be able to rest on its 3 landing gears, if you just push very slightly the tail down, it should tip to its tail. Or for the people that like numbers on my B29 the center of gravity is about 10mm behind the motor cover under the wing. The airplane is of course a little bit heavier but it's still able to fly. I made a 3 min test flight and every thing went well. Its a little bit slow to turn with the rudder but if you give a little elevator to help it's not to bad. Also the elevators surfaces are pretty big for the model and far aft, so be very very gentle with the pitch command. When the 4 motors are full throttle remember to give a little right rudder.
