RE: 1st lesson impressions
thnx for the words,
I'll remember a very long time the feeling when it 1st left the ground and the smile that wouldn't leave my face. I hear ya on the wallet factor, and I just don't have the money to support my new habit. 2 little ones are expensive. ahh this is going to be bad. Long years of penny pinching and scrapping up change. got to admit, a little jealous of the guys who have a half dozen planes and 2 more kits in the works. Oh well.
maybe RCU needs a new plane for penny pinching, best bang for the buck, make it instead of buy it, McGuiverish people. Just a thought.
on more thing about the lesson. Babies and all, couldn't get plane balanced b4 the field. I knew it to be nose heavy with battery behind the servo tray so I marked the wing and took some weights. Instructor saw where the battery was and commented. I told him plane was unbalanced etc. He just slapped the wing on, started it up and away it went. flew great too, I think. seemed to but no perspective. thought that interesting
