RE: Dave Patrick super cub
Flap problem solved.
With Dave Patricks help the problem was found to be the holes in the left wing were drilled about 3/8 of an inch too high. They should be right on the bottom edge, these wire above that which set the whole flap up too high.
Dave offered to send a new wing and flap but I did not want to wait. Redrilled the holes about a 1/4 inch off to one side of the old ones, recovered a 1/2 " strip of the LE of the flap and the TE of the wing to hide the old holes and am a happy camper.
The right wing was perfect.
Looks like I ran into Charlie Chan having a little too much wine the night before work.
FYI - Patrick said the yellow Super Cubs are known as the Piper Vero Beach Cubs. The last 40 or 50 Cubs made by Piper back in the 80s were all a high gloss finish and done in the J-3 paint scheme.
Good luck Pettit on your test flight. Can't wait to hear from you. How was the straight up with the OS 160?
