but being self-taught is still a source of some satisfaction.
I get a lot of satifaction(sic) knowing the guy who taught me was a columbian(sic) nationals(sic) pilot who was one of the best RC guys I have ever met. Learned everything I could from him. I would rather learn from the best than re-invent all the tecniques(sic) over again. He taught me a heck of a lot in a short time. I may fly the same now after 27+ years with any instructor, but he taught me more about building and flying than I think I would ever learn on my own. [8D]
Gosh FLYBOY, I am in awe of your wonderful experience. I wish it were a perfect world so that we all could benefit from such good fortune.

I still, however, encourage those less blessed to use their own initiative and go it alone if necesseary to enjoy our hobby.
