The Williams Bros Spandaus (and other MG kits) seem to be the de facto standard in RC WWI modeling and are beautifully detailed. Nothing else even comes close. Unfortunately, 1/6 scale is the smallest them come in. I'd sure like to see some done in 1/8 scale.

As regards the Wright Bros. wood kits (and this goes for the ones being offered by Arizona Models) IMHO, they don't really cut it. I could probably do just as good a job (and have) scratch-building -- with the exception of the troublesome cooling jacket. This is one area where I think injection molded plastic is the only way to go for a serious scale rendition.

BTW, below are the William's Bros. 1/6 scale Vickers and Lewis and the minuture versions I scratch-built based on them.
