Having owned both, I like the Freestyle.

Better knife edge, better in harrier, stronger fuse.
Only weak point I found was the aluminum gear was thin and would bend on taxi.

Power was OS 70 4 stroke. A friend still has my plane - 3 seasons total on airframe - heavily abused at that.

I did not care much for the Magic Extra. Coupled bad on knife. Fuse was very weak. I sold it to a club member and he broke the fuse just in front of the wing on the first "bumpy" landing. He fixed and flew another couple months - it is scrap now.
