Carb Body
Hello Dave, my name is Danny, i have a YS.45 FS...i ordered parts from you all the last week to freshin up my engine as it has been setting for several years ( had never been apart at all ) and when i took it apart to replace the gaskets and plunger and stuff in the pump and carb...when i removed the bolts they were full of aluminum ! Yeaaaa it took the threads out enough that now the bolts will not even snug up with your fingers ! I ordered enough parts to freshin up 3 engines as a buddy of mine has 2 of the same thing.....he took his apart and WALA.....it took the threads out of his also. Is this a common problem with some of the older YS .45's ??? He is afraid to take his other one apart.....what is it they say, 3rd times the charm ? What do you advise ? Ive never had one seconds problem with my engine nor has he, but after stting for several years and not being run we wanted to replace the plungers and things in them just to make sure. It appeared that there may have been some kind of lock tight or something on the threads other than just the aluminum that was there in them, some kind of white looking stuff. Anyways, ill be waiting to hear from you as to what to do now with this striped out carbs that we have.
Thanks, Danny
