has anyone experienced any flutter [sm=confused.gif] The club I'm in, 3 of us have a Twist (Make that 2, as 1 is yet payed to be a member [sm=tired.gif]), anyho.... Tim has put his Twist in some pretty high speed dives, pulling level for a highspeed pass along the runway [sm=eek.gif]. I've yet to notice any flutter, which surprised me. I haven't done any highspeed passes w/mine yet, though I've wondered if it'd hold together through some of the spins I've put it in.
I only glanced at the manual putting it together.... so not sure if sealing the hinges was in it or not, but I sealed all my hinges w/clear monokote. I'm not a big fan of CA hinges on a plane that has as large of controll surfaces that the Twist has, so I figured the monokote would act as a secondary hinge..... makes Me feel alittle better about it anyway
I haven't had any flutter problems with mine but I have had both aileron hinges at the wingtips fail. They have both been fixed but it is probably just a matter of time before they go again. I haven't sealed my hinge gaps and it would probably be a good idea. I do fly mine pretty hard. The guys at the field all gather around to watch me fly mine in expectation of the wing exploding when I pull off another high speed wall. I wondered if the CA hinges would be enough when I was setting it up. Looks like it could use something a little stronger - at least at the wingtips. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to install an extra aileron hinge at each end of the wing to make sure they last longer. Unfortunately this isn't easy to do once the plane has already been assembled.
