Default RE: Chip Hyde's Cap-X - Building & Flying

I have a Lanier 80"Cap (ARF) cost $329.00 much bigger and it flies very well. I also have a GSP 33% ARC cost $299.00 but I cant tell you how it flies as I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet. I also have a GSP Katana and it has cheap$*%^ covering on it too but it flies almost as well as the Cap X and costs $150.00 less.

Don't get me wrong, I really like the plane, and there are things a Cap will do that no other plane will do, but for the price it should have been covered with Monokote or Ultracoat. I won't take a plane to the flying club with raggedyarsed covering on it. I know it doesn't affect the flying but it reflects on the pilot. How many times have you saw a guy show up with a crappy looking plane and formed an opinion before you ever saw him put it in the air?
