If you only fly with elevator rudder and throttle the TX will be fine but if you ever want a plane with ailerons you will need at least 4 channles and that radio won't work. Just spring for a good 4 channle radio and be done with it, it will also be easier to sell if you ever decide this hobby is not for you.
