Default RE: GX-21 Engine

ORIGINAL: KyoshoKev

i look at the manual and it wont tell you too much.

ok the LSN you shouldnt touch much only fine adjustments

the idle screw ~ looks like this + and has a spring on it, turn clockwise about 1/8th of a turn to stop it from stalling if you put on breaks.

if you car can stall either one of 3 reason....

1. if the HSN or LSN is too rich ~ you can tell if it is too rich if your engine "bogs" ... it will be hard to rev the engine... and lots of smoke

2. If the HSN or LSN is too lean ~ your engine will rev then die when you apply full throttle. and little or no smoke.

3. the idle screw is set too low - you dont touch this screw much. once you set it it should be fine. small adjustment needed about 1/8th of a turn either way.

The HSN you should start at about 3 to 5 turns out, when new. So turn the HSN all the way in. Then turn the needle out (anticlockwise) 4 x 360degs. When the engine becomes run in more then you can lean it out 1/8th turn at a time.

Next test your LSN. Pinch the fuel line and see if the engine can stay on for 5 seconds. If it dies less than 5seconds then richen it (richen = anticlockwise). If it take more than 5 seconds than lean it out. (lean = clockwise)

good lcuk
I've been out today and tested your tips, and now it works like a charm! i can break without it stalls!

I tried the "pinch the fuelline" and it stayed on for 4-5 seconds.

Thank you very much for your help!

BTW, i forgot to mention that i found the manual, and as you said it didnt say very much.
