i flew my today, feels weird flying a plane which flies, not floats compared to what Ive been used to for the last about 4 models, which have all been fun flies.
Flew strait off the deck, a beep or two here of there and its flying nice and strait. the CG is about 135mm

so the elevator trim changes a bit, nothing to worry about that. Roll rate is just mad! 4 point rolls are nice and crisp and fast, 8 points need a bit more care not to over roll on each point. It flies very smooth, but when i flick it into high rate it'll go wild. if i fly nice and slow then pull up into a wall it will just pitch into the vertical, no high gain nor any forward bit of it. I haven't tried it any faster. I think i need a different prop as this is IMO too slow. First flight when i wasn't used to flying a faster plane with big surfaces (wary of flutter) i stalled it in a turn. nothing too dramatic, add power and level out. tracking nicely in loops, tho bunts skew out a bit, I'm thinking this is because there is a
slight twist in one wing panel, or when i drilled the elevator joiner staple its
slightly out (meby only .5-1mm).
flicking into higher rates is fun. elevators are amazing, i think i need to sort out rudder trim/ side thrust to get them perfect. a little wing wobble but nothing too Major. into the harrier there was little wing wobble again, tho this was my thumbs going a bit on the ailerons, just need more practice. i found harriers are a bit slow so i may add a bit of up ailerons to speed them up. i found tho i needed about 3/4 up stick for a good harrier, anyone else find this/????
Hovering, as Ive read allot isn't as easy, the elevator becomes very sensitive in the hover, i may set up another condition switch for hovering were its slightly softer on all surfaces.
inverted harriers, elevators will take a few more flights to get used to, but I'm getting there at hight, the inverted elevator, flipping into upright, then inverted like in Archie's video on fly capiche website are fun.
rolling harriers i cant find which rate i like them in, high or low.
KE was a bit odd, i found that in low rate i needed allot to keep it there, tho just a bit too much sent it into a KE loop. Ill have to put a ply plate in the control horn to stop the horn squashing in the balsa. i also found i will need to mix out some coupling, a bit on the aileron, didn't not which way, and a bit of up on the elevator, I'm guessing this is because of my rearward CG. I should be able to mix this out quite easy i should think.
Waterfalls, KE spins, flicks, tumbles, Flat spins, blenders and lomchevaks were all great, it just flips over its CG, not joking, i love doing them, in the spins it gets really wond up but releaces in an instant.
I only did 2 normal landings, not including my Deadsticks (unreliable idle at the moment). all the rest from flight 2 (not including short, 2 minute trimming flight) were all harrier landings and elevator landings. its too easy to do.
Lost my tail skid tho[

] never mind
overall, it'll take some getting used to, but i like it, and i cant wait to get some better servos in it (got 3001s all round, getting 3x 3010 and 1x 9402 some time soon-ish).
