Yes, you have to cut away a little of the firewall to mount the motor. Remember this plane is a fun design. You're not building a scale master project. All planes have certain little "issues". Once you fly this plane all these little issues will be soon forgotten. I have put together 4 of these planes and it just gets easier each time. Take your time, measure twice then go for it.
