RE: Mini or Micro brushless motors
AMA, thanks for the response. Guess what, I just returned from the NEAT fair. A little wetter than when I left, but with a bag of goodies. In that bag is a CD rom motor from JGRC. He came up from Tarpon Springs, Fla. and brought the rain with him. The motor is 20 grams and will spin an 8/4.3 prop, direct drive, yielding 14 oz. of thrust. A Worley 3 cell 340 mAh LiPo @ 30 grams, 3 mm prop adaptor and prop @ 6 grams, three Blue Arrow BA-TS-4.3 micro servos @ 10 grams, Pheonix 10 @ 5 grams, which I now realize I paid too much for the ESC and on top of that I already had one, oh well. So I am adding 2.5 oz to my 3.6 oz. frame and ending up with a total of 6.1 oz. AUW with 14 oz. of thrust. With the 176 sq. in. wing area, I may have found my combo. Can't wait to get busy, but that won't be untill next week. Later, Joe
Hold everything, I just realized that I weighed 3 servos @ 4.3 grams each and the scale gave a readout of 10 grams. Something is wrong here. I will still weigh in lighter than antisipated, but may have to go the post office for a good read.
