Just wanted to mention that I'm really happy it happened. It's a 5 minute fix and I found out a weak spot in the plane. I bought it second hand so I didn't know if there was going to be anything wrong with it. The dowel piece was made out of balsa. We're going to use a pine dowel to replace it and make it tougher.
