I have gone through a similar expierience with gyros.
Buy the Futaba 401 it's way cheaper in the long run and it works perfectly with the eclipse radio. You should be able to get one for around $135 without a servo if you shop around. All you have to do to set the 401 is check the direction per the instructions, set your channel 7 atv's to 63% in both the up(normal) and down(HH) modes. Set the neutral position in normal mode to give 4.1mm spacing @ the tailcase. turn the heli on in HH mode to initialize and fly. Use a little delay if your servo is slow and buy a 9253 when you can.
